Daan Steynberg worked for an Architectural firm in Pretoria for a
year after completing his B.Sc.(Building) degree. He restarted his
studies in Architecture in 1974 and obtained his B.Arch
Before completing his studies, he worked as junior architect in
London and the Devon countryside on projects ranging from
heritage building renovation to apartment blocks. He worked for
various small companies during his studies and for a couple of
years after graduation.
After qualifying at the University of Pretoria 1990, Marinda joined
the firm Heyn & Bolt Architects, a small firm doing mostly
residential work.
She joined the Department of Graphic & Interior Design at the
Pretoria Technikon (1996) as a part-time lecturer.
After qualifying in 1998 with a M.Sc in Architecture at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria, he worked in two Architectural practices in Nigeria for two years, he left for South Africa in 2000, started M.Sc.
Nicho van der Linde obtained a National Diploma: Architecture in
1994 from the Technikon Pretoria. He graduated in 1997 with a B.
Tech Architecture Technology: Applied Design degree from the
same institution.
After qualifying at Technikon Pretoria Mostert joined the practice of
Moore & Nel incorporated Architects in Pretoria. He worked there
for seven years, mostly on large shopping centres, office
buildings, factories, warehousing and schools.
After graduation in 1976. Gerald Steyn worked for Frei Otto in Germany and the Council for
Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in Pretoria before going into

Andre Roodt has been an architectural lecturer for more than 25 years.
Specialist lecturers
Each year group has a staff member assigned as a mentor [counsellor]. This person will be available for personal counseling and specific problems you may have, be they academic or personal. So if you need assistance and help, check the consultation times of your relevant mentor lecturer to make an appointment either personally or via the Departmental administrator, Ms Lemaria Labuschagne. The mentoring lecturers will also monitor your academic performance and progress from time to time, and approach perceived potential risk students.

The Department appoints technical assistants to assist the administrative and lecturing staff with certain duties. The staff member responsible for the administration and appointment of technical staff is Mr Moses Odebiyi. The rosters and duty times of the technical assistants are pinned up on the notice boards. Only diplomated and graduated students are eligible to be appointed as technical assistants. Advertisements are posted during October and interested students must apply in writing and attend an interview.
